Micro Electric Shocks Control Broadleaved and Grass Weeds

چکیده
A search for energy efficient, non-herbicide weed control methods led to development of a novel electrical weeding technology. This study focuses on efficiency and as elements system that would include machine vision robotics escape weeds in field crops. Two pulse generation systems, one single multiple, were developed evaluated at different delivered voltages energies. Greenhouse trials using specially designed built application recording technology showed the precisely applied micro-shocks with controlled direct current (DC) voltage, number, length period (hereafter PMS) can kill small Lolium multiflorum Lam., Chenopodium album L., Amaranthus powellii S. Wats. Solanum nigrum L. plants minimal energy. Plants took much two weeks die. Increasing increased effectiveness determined by plant biomass reduction death rate. Grasses appear difficult once tillering has commenced, high may destroy leaf blades but not growing points. Broadleaved several days show evidence chlorosis which preceded senescence death. Our results 5 J is sufficient bring about or severe growth limitation many seedlings up 15 cm height. little 1% of, more effective than, ultra-low treatments reported other recent research. To five herbicide resistant m−2, required be 0.25 MJ ha−1 plus transport actuation destruction, compared an optimum target 20–40 including suggested literature. PMS effectively broadleaved non-tillering grasses fraction commercially available systems. indicates potential viable hand-held electric weeders part site-specific robotic system.

Grass Seed Production: Weeds, Herbicides and Fertilisers
Four weed species (Bromus mollis, Vulpia sp., Poa annua, Steltaria media) occur in 30% or more of all perennial ryegrass seed samples. Of the listed undesirable species, Avena fatua (wild oat) and Hordeum murinum occurred respectively in 5.3 and 3.5% of ryegrass seedlots. Only 6 herbicides are registered for use in grass seed crops in New Zealand, 2 for wild oat, and 4 for broadleaved weeds. Th...

in the area of automotive engineering there is a tendency to more electrification of power train. in this work control of an induction machine for the application of electric vehicle is investigated. through the changing operating point of the machine, adapting the rotor magnetization current seems to be useful to increase the machines efficiency. in the literature there are many approaches wh...

Herbicide resistant weeds are becoming increasingly common, threatening global food security. Here, we present BrIFAR: a new model system for the functional study of mechanisms of herbicide resistance in grass weeds. We have developed a large collection of Brachypodium accessions, the BrI collection, representing a wide range of habitats. Wide screening of the responses of the accessions to fou...
متن کاملBiological control of weeds.
Classical biological control, i.e. the introduction and release of exotic insects, mites, or pathogens to give permanent control, is the predominant method in weed biocontrol. Inundative releases of predators and integrated pest management are less widely used. The United States, Australia, South Africa, Canada, and New Zealand use biocontrol the most. Weeds in natural ecosystems are increasing...

AIM Existing models of myocardial membrane kinetics have not been able to reproduce the experimentally-observed negative bias in the asymmetry of transmembrane potential changes (DeltaV(m)) induced by strong electric shocks. The goals of this study are (1) to demonstrate that this negative bias could be reproduced by the addition, to the membrane model, of electroporation and an outward current...
